Export Control

DMW takes all possible measures for export control.
When COCOM* was dismantled in 1994, DMW established the Export Control Committee (hereafter called the Committee) as a cross-sectional corporate-wide organization for the purpose of further enhancing its existing export control system. Since then, DMW has been striving to ensure compliance under the initiative of the Committee. Initially, the Committee enforced export control management to deal with the applicable laws and regulations only in Japan. However, as DMW expanded its business abroad, it is now taking all measures for full compliance with U.S. Export Administration Regulations.

*COCOM: Coordinating Committee for Export Control
COCOM was formed by capitalist nations in 1949 at the initiative of the United States during the Cold War for the purpose of limiting the exportation of strategic goods and technologies to the countries in the Communist block. COCOM was dismantled in 1994 with the end of the Cold War.
